So here it is, my new dress, which I already wore to my best friend’s wedding at the weekend! 🙂
As I am built slightly sloping and the back-length of my right and my left side is also slightly different due to my protruding shoulder blades, the fitting took a while, but I am super happy with my result.
Unfortunately, I only realised when cutting this fabric that there was no real pattern repeat, but with a bit of effort, I managed to get the transitions – at least in my mind – reasonably “harmonious”.
The front:
Slightly shaped v-neckline and the skirt has pleats at the centre front!
The dress is fully lined and has (as always) pockets! 😉
The back:
The back is made out of 4 parts. I took the middle part, where the zipper is located, from my reconstructed halterneck dress as I used the same dress body as a base. It’s also connected to the side seams and therefore ensures a good and stable fit. The sides (i.e. the straps) are sewn on by hand and form the transition to the front at the side seams. The skirt also has pleats at the centre back.
The side:
Just to show, because I really like the fit! 🙂
