I started these braided cable socks in November 2024 and then somehow got bored. Not because I didn’t like my pattern or because I didn’t like the wool, it just happend…. I guess that’s called the famous “second sock” syndrome. But I didn’t wanted to give in to it and have now finally finished the second sock and I am loving my new pair.
I bought and used the following wool: Regia Premium Silk Color (4-ply), Gauge: 30sts x 42rows (Info: only mentioned due to frequent demand, no paid advertising)
I placed the braided cable on the outer side of the socks upper side and it consists of 6 stitches, or respectively the entire cable pattern consists of 10 stitches.
Pattern instructions for the braided cable:
(only the braided cable, everything else is worked in stockinette)
Round 1: p2, place 2sts on cable needle at front of work, k2, k2 from cable needle, k2, p2
Round 2: p2, k6, p2
Round 3: p2, k2, place 2sts on cable needle at back of work, k2, k2 from cable needle, p2
Round 4: p2, k6, p2
Repeat these 4 rounds over and over again. Start after cuff and end at start of toe.
