I have knitted myself another waist-length cardigan to wear over my dresses. After all, autumn is slowly approaching and I always need suitable things to wear over my dresses. That’s why this cardigan has a stand-up collar that can be opened and folded down if necessary.

The edge of the decorative pattern and the back “stripe” actually consist only of right- and left-leaning decreases and yarn overs and are therefore purely decorative, as the number of stitches remains the same.
The knitted-on collar and neck pattern are worked in a 1×1 rib pattern, whereby I have knitted the knit stitch on the right side row through the back loop. The cuffs are worked in a normal 1×1 rib pattern. The sleeves were knitted in using short rows. And for the button band, I once again opted for double knit.

I like the cardigan and think it turned out really well, even though I could have done a better job of pulling the button placket straight for the photos. 😉
Plus, the collar makes it very practical, as it means it’s suitable for all temperatures.
And since I am being asked over and over again what material I used, this is the Cool Wool Vintage by Lana Grossa in dark blue (No. 7366), a yarn made from 100% virgin wool (extra-fine merino).
(Info: By mentioning the name of the wool, this could be interpreted as advertising, but I purchased it myself and was neither asked to write this post nor paid for it.)
